Monday afternoon I was performing my monthly MySpace check ( I have a few friends from back home that refuse to upgrade to Facebook) and I got an email (myspace email)  from one of my very best friends from high school.  We have had a bit of a tough time keeping up with each other because I am addicted to the constant and immediate contact provided by the internet while she has just recently got a cell phone and internet!  It still really amazes me that there are people just now catching on to these things!

Knitting news!  I've been busy lately, and of course still horrible about taking pictures!  I finished Mr. Awesome's blanket and gave it to him for his birthday.  I'm going to visit him in Boulder this weekend so I will get a picture of the blanket complete to post it.  I also have orders for 2 "sock beanies".  Basically a wind sock with a puff ball on the end!  I'm looking forward to getting started on those, and then another friend asked me to make her 2 beanies...she picked out the yarn and told me to be creative!  So far I've made 2 from one skien she got and 3/4 of a beanie from the 2nd skein she got...I wanted to give her some options, and also it will give me a couple more things to post to Etsy!   In my "spare time" this week I was playing with some stitches and made a shrug and a skinny scarf that I need to take pics of and post on Etsy.  *sigh* and I had a couple of friends from back home message me on facebook about some custom orders...we'll see if that turns into anything, but I'm hopeful!

Anywho, time to pack!

Well I've managed to get some things made...knitted at least...I still have some sewing to do, and some better pictures to take!  But here is what I have so far!

The scarf I made tonight while watching the final episode of Top Chief!  It was my first time working with eyelash yarn...I think I will use it again, but I don't think I really like it.  lol, I happen to have inherited quite a bit of it!

I have 2 pairs of fingerless gloves knit just sitting on my coffee table!  I should sew them up, take some pictures and post them on Etsy!

I have a beanie to delivery Thursday night that I have yet to start on!  I should be working on a pattern and start knitting it!

One of my best friends from High School recently sent me a card telling me she is expecting kid #2, I should knit a baby blanket and mail it to her.  I should probably also call her!

I should do my homework for my class tomorrow night, but I think I will put it off until tomorrow!

I should do my laundry, but my roommate is currently using the machines.

I haven't been as productful in my knitting as I would have hoped in the last couple days, but I did do some amazing work on my back yard!  I realized when I got done I should have taken before & after pictures!  I pulled out my dead tomato plants, weeded the garden area, cleaned up the dead leaves in the yard, and swept the entire patio area!  My backyard looks amazing again!

Alright so I've been knitting pretty much all day!  see...

the other pics are a small example of my embarrassing large stash!  idk, i've been meaning to take pics of my stash and post them for a long time, tonight just seemed to be a good time to do it.

in other news last week was a super crappy week!  The coffee shop where I worked had to CLOSE.  this wasn't just a job...this was my home away from home, it was my "Cheers"...for 4 yrs it had been my place to run when I was bored or depressed, or even happy!  There was always someone there that I knew and could talk to, or very comfy chairs to spend all day knitting in!

Also sad because i'm completely unemployed now! HA! yeah.  I'm still morning my loss!

I think I might have a new favorite yarn (well at least for this week!)  Sensations Licorice from Joann's...I love the random colors and the fact that it's super bulky so it makes for awesome quick projects!  I finished 2 items today!

YAY for being busy again!  lol, I'm not sure how I ever had time for everything I used to do!  Not having a full time job, I find that I have way more things to do, all the time! 

So I'm working between 30-40hrs a week at the coffee shop, and that's great because I basically use just my tip money for everyday things like food, and gas. 

My Etsy page has been going crazy lately too!  lol, thank goodness for the holidays!  In the last couple days I have sold 2 beanies and 5 pairs of fingerless gloves! (well 4 on etsy, and one to a friend!)  It's been awesome!  I need to make more stuff, and get the couple of things I have completed up on my page!

so I realized late last night as I was laying in bed unable to sleep, and thinking of the million and one things I need to do, that I hadn't blogged in nearly forever!  I also hadn't taken pictures of completed items in forever, or ordered my Xmas cards, finished my gift for the work party that is Sunday evening...and many other silly things.

So far today, I'm doing amazing work on my to-do list!  I ordered my Xmas cards, they should be here on Mon or Tues, so if I get them out by Thursday they might make it to their destinations before Xmas, which makes me happy.  I finally got some pics of these three beanies that have just been sitting here for the last 2 weeks!

I'm also very excited about the crock-pot I got myself yesterday!  It makes the best winter foods ever!!!!  lol, if only it felt anything like winter here in Southern California (it's been in the mid 70's most of the week I think).

Other knitting news, I made my very first reversable beanie last week for a 10yr's bday gift, I heard she loved it, and i'm kicking myself for not taking any picuters!  when will I ever learn?!

Anywho, there's my quick update, and now it's time to get back to the knitting, and the to-do list!

I want to find a job that is 20-30hrs a week, from 11-4 or 12-5, except on Tuesdays I want to be off by 3:30 because I have a 4pm class!  I want to make $12/hr min.  I want to be busy!  I want to be able to work on different things everyday!  I want a casual, to business casual dress code, no jackets required!  I want it to be withing 10 miles of my house, so I don't ever have to get on the freeway.

Maybe I'll get lucky!

Well I got laid off from my full time job today.  "You are part of the company cut back."  So that sucks....A LOT!

On a more positive note I picked up quite a few hours next week at the coffee shop, and I got a decent severance package, so I should be okay until the beginning of the year. 

lol, now I'm really wishing I would have taken that big order, I would have plenty of time to work on it now!  All well, I suppose it means I have lots more time to get things on my Etsy store!  Today I finished 2 beanies to add on there!  Hopefully tomorrow I can get a least another 2-3 things done before I go to work at the coffee shop.
