I still have 6 more beanies that I will post over the next few days, and 2 sets of handwarmers...and of course more are in the works right now! I'm so excited that I found my motivation again!
Monday afternoon I was performing my monthly MySpace check ( I have a few friends from back home that refuse to upgrade to Facebook) and I got an email (myspace email) from one of my very best friends from high school. We have had a bit of a tough time keeping up with each other because I am addicted to the constant and immediate contact provided by the internet while she has just recently got a cell phone and internet! It still really amazes me that there are people just now catching on to these things!
Knitting news! I've been busy lately, and of course still horrible about taking pictures! I finished Mr. Awesome's blanket and gave it to him for his birthday. I'm going to visit him in Boulder this weekend so I will get a picture of the blanket complete to post it. I also have orders for 2 "sock beanies". Basically a wind sock with a puff ball on the end! I'm looking forward to getting started on those, and then another friend asked me to make her 2 beanies...she picked out the yarn and told me to be creative! So far I've made 2 from one skien she got and 3/4 of a beanie from the 2nd skein she got...I wanted to give her some options, and also it will give me a couple more things to post to Etsy! In my "spare time" this week I was playing with some stitches and made a shrug and a skinny scarf that I need to take pics of and post on Etsy. *sigh* and I had a couple of friends from back home message me on facebook about some custom orders...we'll see if that turns into anything, but I'm hopeful!
Anywho, time to pack!
This weekend I am having a $5-$10 off Sale on all of my Cowl's, Scarf's, and Beanies (that are not already in the sale items list).
Also I'm finally finishing up the blanket I started for Mr. A last year, my goal is to get it done before he comes on Monday, but I think more realistically it will be done before he leaves on Saturday!
This was my first attempt at incorporating the pattern into an item! These will be posted on Etsy soon! I like how these turned out, but I think I can do better...they need some more shape. so...
This is what I worked on today! I "perfected" the pattern I had used to make the purple ones! Surprising less stitches, some decreases just below the wrist to give it more shape, and I think they are perfect! I've been fighting with myself as to post them, or to keep them! I know it's a good idea to actually wear things I make because it's great free advertising, but at the same time I love them so much that I think they would sell well on Etsy!
I did create the pattern, so I can and will definitely make more...I think I should keep these and make more! =D
Well I've managed to get some things made...knitted at least...I still have some sewing to do, and some better pictures to take! But here is what I have so far!
The scarf I made tonight while watching the final episode of Top Chief! It was my first time working with eyelash yarn...I think I will use it again, but I don't think I really like it. lol, I happen to have inherited quite a bit of it!
This matching set kept me up until 3:30am yesterday trying to get it done! I used my favorite Berroco Comfort yarn, but as you can see here I still need to sew up the fingerless gloves!
These Fingerless gloves also need to be sewn up! They are the product of my last sleepless night a few days ago!
These have been complete for quite some time now, sewn but I still have a few loose ends to tie up.
And here are all of them together, waiting to be finished and posted!
I haven't been as productful in my knitting as I would have hoped in the last couple days, but I did do some amazing work on my back yard! I realized when I got done I should have taken before & after pictures! I pulled out my dead tomato plants, weeded the garden area, cleaned up the dead leaves in the yard, and swept the entire patio area! My backyard looks amazing again!

I think that the future owner of this will be very happy with it! I just have to get the matching hand warmers done so I can deliver!
I'm also kind of sad that my fleece lined cowls aren't getting the kind of love I was hoping for on Etsy. lol, I think living in Southern California is kind of a bad thing for my knitting business!
Alright, there is my quick update! Hopefully I'll get my behind in gear and get some more awesome stuff done, although Mr. A is going to be in town for Valentines weekend, so I may not get much done in the next couple of days after all!
Blogging, and taking pictures! So I haven't had time for pretty much anything lately besides work and knitting! I had so many people asking me to make last minute gift items! In the two weeks before Xmas I made:
2 pairs of hand warmers, 1 pair of slippers for one guy,
4 scarfs and 2 beanies for another guy,
my sister ordered matching beanie, hand warmers and a scarf for her sister-in-law,
I made 8 pair of hand warmers for family members,
a scarf for a friend,
then I also made for my Etsy page 2 scarfs, 2 beanies and 2 hand warmers!
lol, I've been knitting A LOT! Today I sold 4 beanies that were on my Etsy page to people at the coffee shop I work at, I also sold 1 beanie to one of the owners of said coffee shop
I have outstanding orders for 4 more beanies and 4 more hand warmers...
deep breath...
plus I still need to make 2 cowl's for my boyfriend and a pair of hand warmers! Talk about BUSY!!!!!
Sad thing is I only have pictures of the items I made for my etsy page, lol and even at that I still need pictures of the hand warmers so I can post them, and I need to take measurements of the beanies before I post them!
I currently have a beanie in the works and a cowl that I need to finish soon.
Classes start back up again tomorrow, so I need to make some big leaps of progress on my outstanding orders this week before the homework starts stacking up!
oh yeah and I'm 25 today...but that's a whole other post!
I think I might have a new favorite yarn (well at least for this week!) Sensations Licorice from Joann's...I love the random colors and the fact that it's super bulky so it makes for awesome quick projects! I finished 2 items today!
But I have to work at 5am tomorrow morning, so it's my bedtime!
